AS ATL Automotive heads into its 20th anniversary celebration event, REV-olution, its Honda division will be bringing two exciting new products to the Jamaican market.
The ‘REV-olution’ is scheduled for ATL’s Audi Terminal on Oxford Road in New Kingston from March 10 to 12.
“ATL Honda will be unveiling the Ridgeline and Pilot at the show,” Sam McKenzie, head of business for ATL Honda, told Jamaica Observer’s Auto magazine.
McKenzie revealed that after much negotiation they were able to secure the rights to import these two
The Pilot is considered the gold standard in the North American three-row sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment. It offers more space and versatility than the CR-V. It blends the convenience and comfort of minivan, with the urban awareness of a SUV. A multitude of features, such as all-wheel drive, a full suite of driver-assist technologies, towing ability, and the option of second-row captain’s chairs are sure to make it a hit with those with larger families to haul.
The Honda Ridgeline is the brand’s take on what the modern pickup truck should be. It was revamped in 2017 and has garnered much praise for its unconventional formula starting with its move to front-wheel drive and a uni-body chassis. While all-wheel drive is available, the switch from the traditional body-on-frame construction has endowed the Ridgeline with a level of refinement not thought possible in the pickup segment. Honda’s decision to forgo the norm and trust in their engineering knowledge has resulted in a mid-sized pickup that is faster, more fuel-efficient and driver-friendly than its six-cylinder Japanese rivals, while still retaining all the facets necessary for heavy-duty work.
“Based on customer demand and the fact that we were servicing so many of them for private owners, we were able to convince Honda to allow us to carry the Ridgeline and the Pilot,” he explained.
Having the two new models will see a huge impact on market for the brand that kick-started the ATL Automotive Group into high gear. For the customer, this means they’ll be able to purchase either brand new off the showroom floor with full warranty and parts support for ease of ownership and peace of mind.
“The Honda Pilot and Ridgeline will fill a gap for us locally, as the brand isn’t represented in the two market segments they both are in,” said McKenzie.
As for REV-olution, McKenzie was clear.
“We’ll be coming with our best foot forward. Revolution will show Jamaica that auto shows can be exciting,” he proclaimed.
Once unveiled, ATL Honda will be taking orders for the 2017 Honda Pilot and Ridgeline.
